Food Inspections


Food establishments in Benton County are inspected on a rotating frequency based on priority ranking. An assessment of the establishment is conducted to determine the Priority Risk. The Risk Assessment uses a variety of factors to determine if an establishment is a high, medium or low risk to the public. For example, a high priority establishment has a greater health risk to the general population based on the type of food and/or the process involved in preparing the food; were as a low priority establishment may only serve prepackaged foods. Inspections are also made prior to the opening of an establishment and to follow up as necessary to check on corrective measures from Routine Inspections.
