Emergency Planning
The Benton County Health Department partners with the county and state Emergency Managers, Family Services, the Ambulance Services and the state of Missouri in the event of a county or state-wide emergency situation. The Health Department has developed its own Emergency Plan with the aid of state emergency planners. In the event of a medical emergency, we would take the lead. In other non-medical emergencies we would assist other agencies in any way requested.
To help prepare the Health Department uses day to day opportunities to practice our plan and preparations; such as our Drive-thru Flu clinics and fundraising team events.
We have a designated team of employees that have each been given a certain role in this process and they participate in local and state trainings to keep up to speed on the current resources available to our agency to assist in possible situations.
